About InstruSelect

An independent flow meter selection tool built by engineers, for engineers.

Our Mission

Selecting the right flow meter shouldn't require weeks of research, multiple sales calls, or an engineering degree in fluid dynamics. InstruSelect exists to simplify this process.

We've compiled technical specifications from leading flow meter manufacturers and built an intelligent selection algorithm that considers your specific process conditions, accuracy requirements, and budget constraints.

Whether you're a process engineer specifying equipment for a new plant, a maintenance technician replacing a failed meter, or a student learning about flow measurement, InstruSelect provides the information you need to make an informed decision.

Our Values

🎯

Accuracy

We use real manufacturer specifications and engineering calculations to provide accurate recommendations.

🔓

Independence

We have no financial relationship with any manufacturer. Our recommendations are unbiased.

📚

Education

We aim to help engineers understand flow measurement, not just sell products.

🆓

Accessibility

The core selection tool is free. Good engineering tools shouldn't require enterprise budgets.

How InstruSelect Works

1

You Enter Process Data

Tell us about your application: fluid type, flow rate, temperature, pressure, pipe size, and accuracy requirements. The more details, the better the recommendation.

2

Our Algorithm Analyzes

We evaluate your requirements against each meter technology, considering factors like fluid conductivity (for mag meters), Reynolds number (for vortex meters), and accuracy/cost tradeoffs.

3

You Get Recommendations

We show you ranked recommendations with specific meter models, key specifications, and explanations of why each option suits (or doesn't suit) your application.

What We Don't Do

We believe in being upfront about our limitations

  • We don't sell flow meters. We provide information to help you make decisions, but you'll purchase directly from manufacturers or distributors.
  • We don't guarantee specifications. Always verify critical specifications directly with the manufacturer before ordering.
  • We don't replace engineering judgment. Our recommendations are a starting point, not a substitute for proper engineering review.
  • We don't cover every meter type. We focus on the four most common industrial technologies. Specialty meters (thermal, positive displacement, etc.) aren't included yet.
